© W. Herbote Gütersloh (27.05.1967) Flugtag in Gütersloh - A varied mix of visiting aircraft is visible in this picture, all taking part in the 1967 airshow at Gütersloh. Seen here beside F-104G Starfighter FX 100 of 1Wing Belgian Air Force is Beverly C1 XH123/N of No 47 Sqn and Buccaneer S2 XN980/'LM652' of No 736 Sqn/Fleet Air Arm. There is although Andover C1 XS605 of No 46 Sqn. The Buccaneer was based at RNAS Lossiemouth the base was later handed to the RAF, the Andover was based at Abingdon, the Squadron later transferred to Thorney Island.

© G. Stallard XS605 Andover C1 46Sqn, Gütersloh (27.05.1967) An Andover at 1967 Open Day in "kneeling" mode which allowed easy access to the rear. The Hawker Siddeley Andover (HS 780) was a twin engined turboprop military transport aircraft produced by Hawker Siddeley for the Royal Air Force developed from the Avro-designed HS 748 airliner.

© G. Stallard XH123/N Beverly C1 47Sqn Gütersloh (27.05.1967) Note the two guys in the open hatch above the cockpit. The Beverly was partly used for paratroop transport some of whom were carried in the twin tail booms; not a very pleasant ride apparently!

© W. Herbote XH123/N Beverly C1 47Sqn, Gutersloh (27.05.1967)This Beverly is parked in the static display at Gutersloh on a nice spring day in 1967. On the left side you can see parts of Buccaneer S2 XN980 'LM/652' of Fleet Air Arm 736Sqn - "LM" stands for Lossiemouth!

Also on show were some Hawker Hunter FR. Mk 10 (one of these being XF438/E of No IV Sqn, pictured here) and several Lightning F. Mk 2 of No 19 Sqn.

© W. Herbote XA930 Victor K1 55Sqn, Gütersloh (27.05.1967) This Victor came to Gütersloh together with two Vulcans to participate in the airshow in 1967. The gray-green scheme was relatively new as it was introduced in the mid sixties.

© W. Herbote XN774/C Lightning F2 19Sqn, Gütersloh (27.05.1967) In 1967 Gütersloh hosted an Open Day, mainly to inform people living in the surrounding cities about the daily flying work of the Gütersloh Squadrons. In these days noisepollution was a theme to the people living in and around Gütersloh and it still is today. In 1967 only No 19 Sqn was based at Gütersloh equipped with Lightnings, as No 92 Sqn still was homebased at RAF Geilenkirchen.
